I would have loved to have given this place more as it has such potential however there were a few negatives. Coolendel is a sweeping, gorgeous property with plenty of room. Want to camp near others? Can do! Want to be away from people? Also got you covered. There is no phone reception so you're totally off the grid. The wildlife is another plus. The amenities were bad even though the staff was there to clean it as many times as possible. Next was the road, be careful driving along here. Pot holes galore and not the safest of roads. Lastly, OVERPRICED! $76 for 1 night ( 2 people, 1 Ute, 1 rooftop tent.

Incredible scenery and views, highly recommend going during the week when it is not busy. Staff were super nice, however don't expect the shop to be open, it rarely was. The river was gorgeous and lovely to swim in and there was a huge range of places to set up camp. Make sure to bring bug spray as there are many spiders, but look out for the native wildlife, plenty of wombats, kangaroos and goannas.

Brilliant camping spot. Good facilities. Great to fun being by the river. Kids had a ball riding around in their bikes, swimming in the river, exploring and playing

The camp provided accommodation in tents. They were so stingy that the curry had not meat. Excluding the long bus ride the location is quiet and picturesque, and the staff allowed for a very enjoyable experience. The camp is a bit expensive though

I often camped with my family at Coolendel in the 80's and have returned multiple times over the years to stay in the cabins. While they maintain their structural integrity and rustic charm, on our recent stay the cabins were in need of a serious deep clean. Sheets and towels all clean, but mould on the walls and dirty fans and rugs. The main sofa bed was broken and difficult to use. We will return! Though I hope the cabins will have had a much needed make-over by the next time we visit this wonderful place.

Beautiful spot. Being NYE we expected some noise but didn’t expect doof doof until 130am with no apparent policing by management. When quizzed the staff responded ‘we’re only tempos’…. Care factor zero. It’s a great place to chill for a day or so but would be great if there were some better hiking trails and more adequate facilities

Its a hidden beautiful campsite🥹🥹 with super super nice hosts! The place is huge with an amazing view, good nature. We went there in the last long weekend. even the place was huge but also full of people. It must be popular. For some reason they managed it very very well though. I dont know how did they do it honestly. Would definitely want to come back again🥰😍

Lovely isolated camping ground, far from the madding crowd - especially in winter! Fabulous for kids, damper on the fire etc. Found the staff member v. helpful. Internet within 100 metres of office, phone calls only if you have phone over wifi or WhatsApp. Highly recommended.
